Nowadays Grow bags are becoming a favorite for gardeners mainly because it addresses many problems that emerge when saplings are planted on the ground. Grow bags are suitable for keeping on the terrace and other places where a good deal of sunlight is available. Another characteristic of the grow bag is that one can adjust the height of the bag as the sides of the grow bag can be rolled down.
How to make fertilizers for growing bags?
- Before making the fertilizer, make sure to put small holes under the grow bag so that there will not be water clogging in the bag.
- Mix loose soil, coconut husk, and dried cow manure under a 1:1:1 ratio. This will be the base mixture in the bag. Keep the mixture under sunlight for an hour before filling it in the bag.
- To this mix, add bone meal and neem cake powder to increase the quality of fertilizer.
- After adding this mixture to a bag for an inch, place a tile to suck the extra water from the bag.
6 Things to Remember while filling Grow Bags
- Adding Trichoderma to the mix can help to restrain fungus attacks on the vegetable plants.
- Do not fill the grow bag full with the mix. Fill the bag half and if it is needed then add more later.
- It is always recommended to keep the bag on bricks or other platforms, not directly on the ground.
- After filling the bag, wait for 10 days and see any weeds are coming if so remove them and then only start planting seeds in the bag.
- Keep the bag under shade for 3-4 days and later only it has to keep under sunlight.
- Watering is another factor. But do not over-water the bag.
