The miracle that this fruit performs is to make everything taste sweet!!

Miracle fruit, (Synsepalum dulcificum), also called miracle berry, evergreen shrub of the family Sapotaceae, grown for its mild fruits that make subsequently eaten sour foods taste sweet. The miracle fruit plant is native to tropical West Africa, where it is used locally to sweeten palm wine and other beverages. The unrelated sweet prayer plant (Thaumatococcus daniellii) is also known as miracle fruit for its similar ability to make sour foods taste sweet.

MAINTENANCE OF PLANTATION
Caring for a miracle fruit plant is not difficult as long as you keep the soil acidity constant. This can be done by using peat and perlite planting mediums and providing a fertilizer for acid-loving plants. Water the plant regularly but do not let the plant sit in water or it may become waterlogged and may develop root rot. Always feel the soil before watering.

FERTILIZATION
The frequent irrigation required can quickly drain the soil of its nutrients. Therefore, it is important to provide the miracle fruit with regular fertilization applications throughout its growing season, from early spring through late fall. The California Rare Fruit Growers organization recommends that you fertilize your miracle fruit with a well-balanced, water-soluble fertilizer. The fertilizer should be applied as instructed to avoid over-fertilization, which would result in injury to your plant.

PEST AND DISEASE CONTROL
Miracle fruit trees are relatively resistant to disease. However, improper watering, resulting in a waterlogged plant, can quickly lead to root rot. Though resistant to most diseases, the miracle fruit is quite vulnerable to pests, including mealy bugs and spider mites. These pests feed on the foliage and fruit of the miracle fruit, which causes stress and injury of the plant. Pest infestations of the miracle fruit are easily eliminated by cleaning the plant with a insecticidal soap and warm water. A light insecticide spray treatment is also effective in treating these infestations.

PRUNING
Light pruning to shape the plant to an appropriate shape and size. It also stimulates branching and the production of more flowers

HARVESTING YOUR MIRACLE FRUIT
Plants may begin fruiting when about 4 years old and it only takes 3-4 weeks from fruit set to maturity. The main crops come in winter, with larger plants tending to bear some fruit most of the year. As the seed is large and the flesh scanty, they are not used for jams, juice or desserts. They can be frozen, with no loss of quality, so most people simply pick a few as they come ripe, often, and put them in a container in the freezer.

PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
Miracle fruit plants are very well suited for growing in a pot. It is easier to control the special conditions they require, acidity, moisture and sun exposure. They prefer a sheltered location. In case of Soil, Acid, pH 4.5-5.8, and well-drained as there is little tolerance to alkaline conditions or waterlogging. Neutral soil may be acidified with powdered sulphur and mulched with peat moss. Climate- Warm, humid tropical or subtropical, but it does seem to adjust to cooler climates. Mature plants can tolerate a brief period of frost. If grown in a pot, it can be moved to a warm location during cold weather.

Plant dullness or leaf drop due to transit

Occasionally, plants may experience a temporary dullness or leaf drop during transportation due to factors such as insufficient sunlight and water.

Kindly follow our plant care instructions and closely monitor its condition for the next 15-20 days. This period will allow the plant to rejuvenate and regain its strength, returning to a healthy state.

Right time to re-plant after delivery

Immediate repotting or re-planting of delivered plants can induce stress on them.

We recommend maintaining the plants in the original bag upon receipt and consistently watering them for the initial two weeks. Additionally, place the plants in an area with 50% sunlight during this period. After the plants have acclimated to your climate and achieved stability, you may proceed to repot them into larger containers or directly into the field.
