  1. Botanical Profile:
    • Scientific Name: Theobroma cacao
    • Family: Malvaceae
    • Origin: Native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America.
  2. Appearance:
    • Cocoa trees are small evergreen trees that typically grow to a height of 10-30 feet (3-9 meters).
    • The leaves are glossy, dark green, and elliptical in shape.
    • Small, inconspicuous flowers with a unique appearance grow directly on the trunk and older branches of the tree.
  3. Cocoa Pods:
    • Cocoa beans are the seeds found inside the large, football-shaped cocoa pods.
    • The pods are initially green but change color as they ripen, turning yellow, orange, or red when ready for harvest.
    • Inside each pod are 20-50 cocoa beans embedded in a sweet, white pulp.
  4. Cocoa Beans:
    • Cocoa beans are the primary source of chocolate and cocoa products.
    • The beans are oval, approximately 1-2 centimeters long, and covered in a sweet-tasting pulp.
    • After harvesting, the beans are fermented and dried to develop their characteristic chocolate flavor.
  5. Growing Conditions:
    • Cocoa trees thrive in warm, humid, and tropical climates.
    • They require well-drained, fertile soil and protection from direct sunlight.
    • Typically, cocoa trees are cultivated in regions within 20 degrees north and south of the Equator.
  6. Harvesting:
    • Cocoa pods are harvested by hand, using machetes or other tools to cut them from the tree.
    • The pods must be opened carefully to avoid damaging the beans inside.
    • Harvesting is labor-intensive, and it is usually done year-round, as cocoa trees can produce pods at various times.
  7. Cocoa Processing:
    • After harvesting, the cocoa beans are fermented and dried to reduce bitterness and develop the chocolate flavor.
    • They are then roasted, cracked, and winnowed to obtain cocoa nibs, which are used to make chocolate.
  8. Cultural and Economic Significance:
    • Cocoa has a rich cultural history, dating back to ancient civilizations like the Mayans and Aztecs.
    • The global cocoa industry is economically significant, with millions of people involved in the cultivation, processing, and trading of cocoa beans.
  9. Challenges and Sustainability:
    • Cocoa farming faces challenges, including disease, climate change, and labor issues.
    • Sustainability initiatives aim to address these challenges and promote ethical and environmentally friendly cocoa production.
  10. Health Benefits:
    • Cocoa beans contain antioxidants and are associated with potential health benefits when consumed in moderate amounts, such as improving heart health.

I received a damaged product/plant

Reach out to us via email at or give us a call at +91 9746 999 125.

For a seamless replacement process, we recommend capturing a video or picture while unboxing the parcel. This not only expedites the resolution but also aids us in comprehending the specific types of damages caused by our courier vendors.

Plant dullness or leaf drop due to transit

Occasionally, plants may experience a temporary dullness or leaf drop during transportation due to factors such as insufficient sunlight and water.

Kindly follow our plant care instructions and closely monitor its condition for the next 15-20 days. This period will allow the plant to rejuvenate and regain its strength, returning to a healthy state.

Right time to re-plant after delivery

Immediate repotting or re-planting of delivered plants can induce stress on them.

We recommend maintaining the plants in the original bag upon receipt and consistently watering them for the initial two weeks. Additionally, place the plants in an area with 50% sunlight during this period. After the plants have acclimated to your climate and achieved stability, you may proceed to repot them into larger containers or directly into the field.

Why Cash on Delivery not available?

We regret to inform you that we do not support cash on delivery for plant orders. This decision is based on the fact that in the event of order rejection, it takes a minimum of 15 days for the plants to return to the nursery. This delay poses a risk of permanent damage or loss to the plants.
