Dabai is the Malay name for the fruit of Canarium odontophyllum, a tree native to lowland forests on the island of Borneo. It is most commonly found in the Malaysian state of Sarawak. The tree grows to height of 30 meters meters or more and has large pinnately compound leaves with pointed, oblong leaflets.
Its fruit is a prized seasonal delicacy in Sarawak. The outer skin is glossy black colour while the flesh is yellow with an elongated seed. The fruit is hard and inedible when ripe and must be soaked in warm water before eating. It tastes of avocado and is seasoned with salt or soy sauce.
Being in the same genus as the Pili nut (Canarium ovatum) the seeds are also edible, and similar to almonds or pistachios.
When eaten raw, dabai is very astringent; when soaked, it tastes of avocado. After (or, sometimes, during) soaking, dabai is seasoned with sugar, salt, or soy sauce and then eaten plain or added to dishes like nasi goreng (fried rice).
Dabai is antioxidant-rich fruits with potential health benefits. Dabai pulp contains a high amount of fat, pulp is juicy and fibrous. These underutilized fruits are rich in antioxidants, especially polyphenols in dabai and β-carotene and ascorbic acids are pesent.

For a seamless replacement process, we recommend capturing a video or picture while unboxing the parcel. This not only expedites the resolution but also aids us in comprehending the specific types of damages caused by our courier vendors.
Occasionally, plants may experience a temporary dullness or leaf drop during transportation due to factors such as insufficient sunlight and water.
Kindly follow our plant care instructions and closely monitor its condition for the next 15-20 days. This period will allow the plant to rejuvenate and regain its strength, returning to a healthy state.
Immediate repotting or re-planting of delivered plants can induce stress on them.
We recommend maintaining the plants in the original bag upon receipt and consistently watering them for the initial two weeks. Additionally, place the plants in an area with 50% sunlight during this period. After the plants have acclimated to your climate and achieved stability, you may proceed to repot them into larger containers or directly into the field.
We regret to inform you that we do not support cash on delivery for plant orders. This decision is based on the fact that in the event of order rejection, it takes a minimum of 15 days for the plants to return to the nursery. This delay poses a risk of permanent damage or loss to the plants.
